BVI Ship Registration

The main reason for registering a ship has always been to prove its nationality and for Pleasure Vessels, identification is essential for overseas voyages.

Another reason for registration is to use the ship as security to obtain a marine mortgage which in turn is registered. Ownership details are fully investigated and purchasers of British registered ships can obtain a Transcript of Registry which shows the registered owners of a ship and whether there are any outstanding Mortgages lodged against the vessel.

We will arrange through the BVI Registrar of British Ships for the registration of vessels under the British Flag including Ships Radio Licence. Designated as a Class 2 Ship Registry, the BVI registers Pleasure Yachts up to 400gross tons.

Additionally, to facilitate the registration of vessels, we will arrange for the incorporation of a BVI Business Company (BVIBC) for clients who require that their vessel be owned by an offshore company. 

The service we provide for BVI Ship Registration can be used as a vehicle by any present or potential vessel owner who wishes to purchase a vessel, or change ownership of a vessel through a BVIBC.
